The Two PillarsThe Two Pillars

Children’s literature, fairy tales and stories -- from classic fairy tale favorites to the newest stories – are all based on telling a tale with a moral; they have a point and a purpose. Top Christian stories for children, bible stories and stories of the saints and heroes of the Christian and Catholic tradition are important parts of this heritage.   The best selling children’s stories and tales always teach a valuable lesson about human living.   Some children’s stories have lasted unchanged for thousands of years, or have gone through a number of re-workings into short stories, story books and other forms, even songs, to impart the same lessons.  The best of these will take on lives of their own.  But whether they are hearing a classic or a new tale from the pen of a modern author, children are perennially unable to resist a good story.  Telling children stories, whether from life or from the classics, whether from the Bible or another time-tested source, is one of the most valuable ways to impart moral values that will stand them in good stead as youngsters and finally as adults – as well as one of the most pleasurable things a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, family friend, teacher, or caregiver can do with them.  Building a library of the best children’s books which they can listen to and grow up with, which they may even pass on to their own children, is a wonderful way to begin to educate and form children correctly.

The world today offers parents, grandparents and others unique opportunities to access the newest and best sources for top children’s stories and books.  Online, one is able to cast the net a little wider in the search for the classic Christian children’s books, the best in Catholic stories.   Especially if one is looking for attractive discounts on children’s books and stories, online outlets are a must in today’s world.

Finding GraceFinding GraceComing of age and falling deeply in love for the first time in the early 1970's -- in the wake of the 60's "sexual revolution" and the historic Roe v. Wade decision -- presents true challenges for young people who are trying to live chastely. In this engaging novel, the 13 yr old Grace realizes that without the help of God, the Blessed Mother, and all the saints in Heaven, navigating the thorny path to sainthood would be an almost insurmountable task.
Kissimmee's Newport: 1894Kissimmee's Newport: 1894Hi there! My name is Kissimmee Parr. I live in a big house called Pristol Hall, in Newport Rhode Island. Well, for the summer, anyway. Lots of people live in Newport during the summer. Mother always tells me to “be proper” around other people in society. But I hate being proper-I want to have fun! So I break all the rules society makes. That’s what this story is about. Me having fun in the summer of 1894. You could share in the fun too, just open up the cover…
No Longer a StrayNo Longer a StrayOne reader writes:  A pup for Jesus? This really caught my attention. I read it to my first graders for our Lenten Reading in class. They loved it. The compassion in the little one's heart at the Way of the Cross chapter was remarkable. This was their favorite book to listen to. They talk about Pup, Pup all the time. When they hear something in church, they know they heard it first from Pup, Pup.
