Inspirational Resources for Christian & Catholic Men, Women & Parents
Our Products Promote Personal Growth
and Firm Grounding for Your Family in Christian Faith and Culture
BOOKS, CDS, DVDS, DEVOTIONAL MATERIALS, GAMES & FAMILY ACTIVITIES
There is more and more evidence today that along with the general decline in culture and loosening of morals both public and private, the age old and time tested institution of the family is declining as well. Most authorities, many scholars, and religious leaders of all types bemoan this and warn of dire consequences -- while the number of unwed young mothers who are heads of household skyrockets, and fatherless children become ever morecommonplace. We are now entering the third generation of such phenomena, and it sometimes seems that soon such things as courtship, love and marriage-before-children will be mere memories. Against these trends one wonders if there is an answer, a solution, a way to preserve and restore traditional family life, teach proper values, and introduce faith, hope and love into the family and the culture once again.
There do seem to be some hopeful signs as, for example, the homeschooling trend grows across the country. Both protestant and catholic families are increasingly aware that the proper education of their children is primarily their own responsibility. They have taken charge of renewing the culture within the family, teaching their children all of the normal subjects as well as giving them solid instruction in faith, hope, examples of family love and a firm grounding in traditional values. Coupling religious education with the traditional curriculum, homeschooled children consistently perform better on standard tests than children who leave the home to go to school. Plus, home-schooled youngsters are not exposed to the questionable values and ethics often found in school curricula today. Finally, new movements in so-called "feminism" which focus really on re-establishment of a woman’s proper role as man’s equal in family life and in society, not as competitor but as complement, can help to reverse the decline in respect for women that evidences itself in such things as pornography, etxra-marital sexual activity, abortion, and other aberrations. It is only natural and logical that this should be, and that the family, so neglected of late and so eternally crucial to Man’s survival, should be supported and nurtured by all. Not only is it good politics, it is good religious practice and good theology.
Whether you choose to homeschool, to send your children to parochial or private school, or to supplement public school education with a strong in-home environment that promotes good Christian cultural values, The Christian Book Corner (t-CBC.com) wishes to support proper development and growth of families in every way that we can. We continually search for appropriate resources in the form of books, dvds, cds and other media that we can list here, materials which have been reviewed and approved by responsible and trusted persons. You can be sure that the products we offer are food for the mind and soul -- available, as always, at discounted prices.
