Wellspring of Worship

It’s a rainy day and you can almost feel  a chorus of "Mom, there’s nothing to do!" building ominously in corners of your home.  The kids are …   Well let’s just say that the next couple of hours will be a difficult grace if nothing can be found to occupy them,  something good for them and not damaging to either home environment or mental and spiritual health.  It's a moment for engaging the whole person within each of their souls ... and the eye is the window through which you instinctively know you ought to do it.

How can you engage the eyes of your youngsters so they will open their hearts and souls to wholesome experiences of growth?  This a significant modern-day problem.  The flood of things coming through main media outlets and over broadcast waves into our homes today is often highly problematical, if not outright offensive, yet the Christan family, even a home-schooling Christian family, cannot easily just retreat into a closed room. Perhaps on a day like today you would really like to gather together as a family and watch or experience something good, wholesome and educational -- something which might open up afterward into avenues for discussion and growth.  But there seems to be nothing like that available on the planet!  The climate of today’s culture at almost every level and in nrealy every outlet for "art" of any kind seems to be focused on eliminating everything once thought to be “wholesome” entertainment, especially as it may concern children and family centered entertainment.  What is rated "PG" today would have been rated "R" only a few years ago.  And the "G" rating seems to have virtually disappeared from the entertainment industry's alphabet (but by the way, if you are looking for a reliable and solidly Christian family-oriented rating source for popular film releases, t-cbc.com heartily recommends subscribing to  MOVIEGUIDE: The Family Guide to Movies and Entertainment at http://www.movieguide.org ).

Happily there are still sources of and outlets for truly "good" and "beautiful" films and dvds today --  DVDs, films and videos of Christian and even truly Catholic outlook, produced for children and/or adults, of superior quality, receiving excellent reviews for content.   There are also of course numerous other ways of engaging children's eyes so as to open them towards the true beauty of Godliness, whether or not today is of the rainy sort.

Whether your desire is for inspirational, educational, informational or simple entertainment value in Christian or specifically Catholic films, DVDs or tapes the carefully chosen products at the Christian Book Corner will accommodate your wishes and needs.   At t-CBC.com we are slowly and carefully building a select and ever growing collection of new and classical family videos -- and other visually oriented spiritual adventures -- within a solidly Christian world view.  All of our items come well reviewed and recommended.  They include among other subjects stories of holy men and women, saints and martyrs of the faith from ancient times to the present day.  Here you will find, along with a few art prints, and books about art and/or visually oriented methods of prayer, reliably wholesome DVDs, films and videos many of which conform to the highest cinematic standards yet are both inspirational and entertaining, inviting the viewer to open wide the eyes of his or her heart and soul..
